About NST
The Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) is one of the world’s leading professional body work therapies which allows the body’s natural healing process to occur. Principally in the spinal column and consequently throughout the whole body, resulting in increased energy levels and a feeling of well being and rejuvenation.
The treatment process
The patient is asked to relax on a therapy couch while the practitioner applies gentle pressure and manipulation to soft tissue areas, namely on the upper and lower back, abdomen, neck, arms and legs.
Typically a session lasts between 30/45 minutes.
Substantial relief is regularly attained after the first session. However, long term resolution is generally attained after the second and third sessions.
Chronic or advanced degenerative conditions usually benefit from regular maintenance treatments.Post treatment & after care
Following treatment some patients may from time to time experience a range of physical, emotional sensations as the body brings itself back into balance (homeostasis). These are simply temporary symptoms which disappear after a day or so. These are positive signs that the body is returning to an improved state of well being.
Following NST treatment it is important to drink plenty of water to flush out toxins released by the treatment.

History & development
Michael J Nixon-Livy is the founder of the highly acclaimed NST. He is also an internationally renowned lecturer, teacher, author and health practitioner.
During the mid to late 1950s an Australian osteopath, Tom Bowen, discovered that unusual relationships existed between certain health complaints and particular patterns of muscular dysfunction with which his patients presented.
This observation led to many years of intensive clinical research and experimentation, which ultimately resulted in the development of a unique system of myofascial stimulation, which brought about long term corrections to the patterns of muscular dysfunction and the corresponding health complaints.
Following Tom Bowen’s death, Michael J Nixon-Livy took up the challenge of developing advanced principles of Tom Bowen’s earlier work. This advanced system became known as the Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST).
